planting

thin twigs

into the floor

amazed

at how

easily

they

take root

and turn

the dead surface

into the moist soil

watching

the tips

of the fingers

unfold

young leaves

filling

with breath

the lamp lit

studio space

bending

and turning

as the wind

comes

from

nowhere

bringing

passerine birds

catching

the eternal return song

when

the spring

falls

on the wing beats

of dance
